I’m sitting in the office. I’m bored. So I started to search wikipedia for articles on the different rites that exist in the Catholic Church. I think that there are a lot of people who don’t realize that the Mass going on down the street in the local Roman Catholic Parish, is not the only liturgy celebrated by the Church. I found the Liturgy of St. Luke in English, in its entirety and as I was reading through it, I thought it was quite beautiful and awesome. This summer a few friends and I thought about going to a Mass at a Ukrainian Catholic Church in Belfield, ND, but decided against it since we didn’t know the first thing about the Ukrainian liturgy. I kind of wish we had gone. I really want to learn more about the different liturgies and experience some of the riches of our Church that many of us American Catholics don’t even know exist. I think it would be an awesome experience.
